I'm in a SHA256 pool in Hamsterpool and have been signing in regularly this past week. Today I decided to try mining their Scrypt pool with my graphics card on a different PC. Was already logged onto Hamsterpool on my daily PC and went over to the possible Scrypt mining PC, and logged onto "hamsterpool.com". I then clicked on Edit Account to start setting up for the Scrypt pool and suddenly the screen filled with a "502 Bad Gateway" message. Tried backing up, no change. Tried reloading the bookmark and no change.
I closed the window and returned to my daily PC (already logged on), clicked on Edit Account, and got the "502 Bad Gateway" screen again. Tried closing the window and opening a new one, as well as closing the browser and reopening it, but every time I try to open "hamsterpool.com" I get the same result -- "502 Bad Gateway".
I can access other websites fine, it's just that one and I've no idea whether my actions with two logged on sessions triggered it or if that was just coincidence -- I do know that that error normally indicates a communications problem between two servers in the net. I checked and the related miners are still finding the pools alive, but I'm unable to access the website and my account.
Is anybody else seeing this problem? Is there a way to check with the website operators?
PS. DailyPC is WinXPproSp2 32bit, other is Win7UltimateSp1 64bit, both running Firefox/AvastAntivirus/SuperAntispy with Windows Firewalls up. Both PCs are on the same LAN communicating via the same router/modem, ISP is Verizon FIOS. Both are scanned for critters regularly.
